I know I haven't posted anything in forever, but these took me about a million years to finish, so I am posting them!

Beastie Boys longies:

At first I thought she was crazy with the colors (I had envisioned them in black and white), but I actually like them. I just would have changed the yellow on green for the writing on the bum for more contrast. The robot scared me, but I think he came out cute. I might use him again in the future.

I hope everyone is well! Back to the needles...

Look! I finally knit something! It's just a little Virginia Tech hat for Sam. Wanted to see how it looks before I make one for my friend Jess's baby shower. Unfortunately I don't have any projects in the works because pregnancy left me with some pretty bad carpal tunnel. And even if I didn't, Sam doesn't let me do anything but walk him around, feed him, talk to him and pat him on the back. I've tried to knit with him asleep on the boppy in my lap, but I keep hitting him in the head with my needles. And anyway, there are more important things to be done while he sleeps...Like blog posts!

Well that didn't take long. I now have screaming baby at my shoulder while I type with one hand...he does not like me to sit. Gotta go and take the kiddo for a tour of the kitchen. Hope to post again soon!

Hi everybody! I'm sorry I have been neglecting my blogging, knitting, sewing and just about everything else. Hopefully now that vacation is over and Christmas is over, everything will get back to normal. I haven't done much in the line of knitting since before Christmas. I did knit a little scarf and started another scarf with the malabrigio (sp) yarn. But....all of those bags were packed away in a closet while concentrating on the trip. It is pretty beautiful down there!! Here we are having a drink at a beach bar and the other is just a picture of the coastline.

Now it's back to work. I don't think the knitting will be coming out for a while though. I have to work on making curtains for our bedroom. I got a new sewing machine for the job..........so I guess I'm going to have to go through with the project. Heaven help us!!! I'll see if I can't produce a picture of the few things I have done in the past month. Half a scarf, a grey scarf and a cushion for our sofa that is so hard to sit on that it hurts my tender butt! That's it for now!

I just had to pop on to post a picture of my nephew Sam in the easy peasy cardigan that I knit for him over the holiday break. He is also chillin' on the log cabin that I knit for him when he was still being carried around in the belly. It is like I am giving him a big, fat, wooly hug from 950 miles away. That is what I love so much about knitting. Auntie K was afraid that he looked like Hitler youth in that second picture, but I think it looks more like a Rebel Yell.

I hope to update tomorrow with some work pictures, if I can make myself sit and finish leg #2 of the last of a 3 pair order tonight. We'll see. I really just want to work on my duplicate charts, but since I won't be listing them until February at the earliest, I should really just get these pants done...

I'm lazy as all getout right now so I am doing a crosspost from my Crankypants blog. I haven't been sleeping very well lately and I'm tiiiiiiiiired! I am supposed to go to trivia tonight, but I think I am going to take a shower, get in my jammies and knit. Yes, I am a 93 year old woman.

I think I might invest in a knitting machine! They have a light duty one at Michael's right now and if I can get my hands on one of their coupons for 40% off, it will be really reasonable. That way I can crank out the easy stuff like the hot pad and IPod cozies super quick. In theory anyway...

Ms. Andrea has been waiting so patiently for her peace britches. They are finally done and going into the mail this very afternoon.

I had to hand dye the bright colors, so while the yarn was drying on those, I finished number one in Britton's trio of wool:

2 down, 7 to go...

I'm here! I am just neck deep in wool with green hands from dying yarn all afternoon. One of these days I'll wise up and get some rubber gloves. Eventually I'll be back to post pictures. Someday. Maybe.

here's one more hat - same patten as my blue one (no flower) - this one for stig's birthday.
here he is looking extremely goofy, wearing the new hat, and also wearing the hat adella made for him...

no new knitting planned, but many sewing projects on my mind - so i may be absent for a while. but i'll still be checking in!
keep knitting! where are you guys?

happy new year, ladies!!

i just have a couple of things to show, and no big plans for starting anything just yet. i seem to have developed some kind of knitting related thumb arthritis, so i'm trying to lay off the needles for a little while. but i do have some sewing projects planned, so i won't be entirely un-crafty!

anyway, i got a new knitting book, Knit2Together, for christmas, and it had a few cute projects in it. i wasn't too sure about this hat (i'm still not), but i knit it anyway:

i know i look like a big dork, but i don't think it is the hat's fault.

i also knit a little hat and bootie set for our pregnant friend kim, and a matchy big brother hat for elijah:

kim's very opposed to pink/blue baby stuff, but once the wee one is born, i'm planing to sneak a tiny bit of pink or blue embroidery in...!

that's it for now.
hope everyone is having a great new year!
